Invisalign for Kids, Teens, and Adults
Invisalign in NYC is now available for people in a wide age range, from older children and teens to adults and there has never been a better time to work on your smile. Dr. Lena and her team welcome you to come in for a consultation and discover whether Invisalign clear aligners are the right solution for you or your child.
Unlike traditional braces, these clear trays are removable, which makes it much easier to eat normally and keep up with the highest degree of oral health care. You simply wear your tray all day other than when eating or brushing teeth, and this amazing technology does the rest!
You will also want to remove the trays when playing sports. They are designed to straighten your teeth, not protect them from impact, so be sure to wear your usual mouthguard as needed.
When undergoing Invisalign treatment, most people won’t even notice that you’re wearing any kind of orthodontia. The trays are invisible when you smile, unlike braces that show brackets and wires.
Invisalign is not ideal for young children, such as those undergoing phase 1 early intervention treatment. Since the trays are removable, they can be easier for young kids to misplace. Older children through adults, however, tend to find the trays very easy to use and care for.
The Invisalign technology has grown and improved in numerous ways since its inception. We can now treat many orthodontic issues that were previously unable to be treated with clear aligners. So, even if you’ve been told in the past that clear aligners won’t work for you, it’s worth coming in for a consultation with our team of experts so we can offer you a fresh assessment.
After you are fitted for an Invisalign tray, you’ll come back for checkups about every 6 – 8 weeks so we can follow the progress of your teeth movement and give you new trays when your teeth are ready. These checkups are less frequent than with braces.
